International Trade and Investment Promotion is the focus area of operation of the WTCA. A Not for Profit and Non-political organisation, the WTCA was set up in 1968 to achieve " prosperity Through Trade and Investment ". The WTCA began with a modest WTC Membership of 15 and has emerged as a premier organisation having WTC Membership in all the Continents : Asia & Pacific, Australia, America, Africa and Europe. A guesstimate indicates that as much as one fourth of international trade flows through the WTCs Network and about 750,000 businesses and government organisations associated with it.
A newly developed city, Navi Mumbai, has emerged as a prominent commercial destination to meet the growing needs of the business community. Navi Mumbai is emerging as the nerve centre of international business due to its strategic location. An important feature of Navi Mumbai's strategic location is the proximity to JNPT, a highly sophisticated Sea Port. A modern international airport at Navi Mumbai is also in the offing. With highly developed infrastructure at Navi Mumbai the entire region is fast emerging as a promising business destination for local as well as global investors, Trade Promotion Organizations and service providers. The growing population of Navi Mumbai and the buzzing business activities are speedily transforming the region as an important commercial centre.
Given its strategic importance, an establishment of the World Trade Centre in Navi Mumbai would serve as an ideal platform to connect the various verticals of Trade, Investments, Government Agencies, Academia, amongst others.
Suresh Raheja (Chairman) is a well-known name in the area of Real Estate and Construction in India. He has been in the business of Real Estate Development for over 4 decades. His primary focus has been on developing projects and focuses on both architectural and aesthetic aspects of such projects. He received the Lifetime Achievement award twice in a row, from the Builders Information Bureau.
Rahul Raheja (Vice Chairman) is MBA from the London Business School and One of the founding members of the India Chapter of the YEO (Young Entrepreneurs Organization). He has over 2 decades of experience in the real estate industry. He has been focusing on the Sales & Marketing activities of the business and leads the sales team of Managers and Executives. Closely associated with large land acquisition transactions and handles government liaisoning besides managing the Company's Property Management Cell.
Ashish Raheja (Managing Director) has a bachelor's degree in commerce from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics and was a gold medallist in financial accounting and auditing. He was awarded the Young Visionary Award in Real Estate Infrastructure in 2009 by Construction Source India in association with CNBC Awaaz 1 TV18 and the Developer of the Year Award in 2010 at the Economic Times Ace Tech Awards. His role in the company is Identification / Acquisition of Land and Project Conceptualization.
Ashish Raheja is the Chief Executive Officer of the World Trade Centre Navi Mumbai.
